Why this charter?

This charter exists to provide clarity where there is often very little. It enables candidates to:

Our three convictions

1. AI is a competitive advantage, not a trend

At Pennylane, AI is already transforming our products, our teams and our professions. We value people who are able to use it appropriately, with sound judgment and a critical mindset. Those who master it today will be tomorrow’s strongest contributors. That is why AI is central to our recruitment criteria.

2. We assess the way people think, not superficial performance

We are not looking for candidates who hide how they use AI or present themselves as more knowledgeable than they really are. We are looking for people who can rely on the right tools while understanding their limitations and retaining their ability to exercise judgment. The approach matters just as much as the result. We are interested in your reasoning, your choices and the way you work.

3. People remain at the heart of every decision

AI enhances our ability to work. It does not replace judgment, relationships or decision-making. All our recruitment decisions are made by members of our teams. No AI tool makes decisions on behalf of the people who meet with you.

Our approach to AI in recruitment

At Pennylane, artificial intelligence is not a trend to observe from a distance. It is a strategic driver of transformation that we fully embrace at every level of the company. Our teams use AI to work faster, think differently and focus their energy on the topics that create the most value. In both our product and our internal operations, AI is redefining what it means to excel in your profession.

We also want to be consistent in the way we recruit. The people joining Pennylane today will contribute to this transformation. This page is intended to explain what that means in practical terms throughout our recruitment process.

1. If you use AI in your work, you are in the right place

We recruit people who are able to integrate AI into the way they work. You do not need to be an expert in every tool. Above all, we are looking for people who experiment, seek to improve and maintain a critical perspective on the results produced.

The ability to use AI appropriately is a skill we value just as much as professional expertise. Our interviews and exercises are designed to help us better understand the way you work. If you have developed specific uses, methods or practices, please tell us about them. That is precisely what interests us.

2. We do not expect you to be perfect. We expect you to be honest

If AI has provided significant assistance with an exercise or deliverable, you can mention it and specify:

This is not an admission of wrongdoing. It is useful information that helps us understand your approach and the way you work.

What we assess is your reasoning, your ability to approach a problem and your perspective on the result obtained. We are not trying to pretend that AI does not exist.

Two situations remain incompatible with what we are seeking to assess:

This requirement applies in both directions. On our side, we also commit to informing you before the interview if an automated transcription tool may be used, and to giving you the opportunity to object, with no impact whatsoever on your application. If you object, no recording or transcription will be made.

📌 If a particular use of AI could be helpful to you for accessibility, translation or any other reason, please discuss it with your recruiter before the interview. We always prefer to address these matters openly.

3. Recruitment decisions are, and will remain, made by people
